Pluslife Mini Dock Rapid PCR System

The Pluslife Mini Dock is a rapid molecular diagnostic system used for the detection of infectious diseases. The proprietary in-house developed isothermal amplification technique (RHAM) provides accurate results that are comparable to laboratory qPCR tests. Easy to use and small in size, it allows one to perform nucleic acid testing in the lab or clinic with 35 minutes analysis time. A large number of target sequence copies are generated in the reaction system during the isothermal amplification step. Isothermal amplification is achieved at a constant temperature of 60°C, eliminating the need for specialised thermal control equipment required to cycle and achieve amplification in a PCR assay. In isothermal amplification, when the probe hybridizes to the complementary sequence, it is cleaved and fluorescence is emitted. The device detects the fluorescence signal and automatically reports a result. Given that one sample is analysed at a time, it allows for a positive result to be reported as soon as sufficient fluorescence is detected within 10 to 15 minutes. A negative sample will run for the full 35 minute process before being indicated as negative. A positive sample with a low Ct PCR value, will have a short analysis time on the Pluslife PM001, while a sample with a PCR Ct value close to the threshold will have a longer run time on the Pluslife PM001 before a positive result is detected.
